Sh. Vikrant Kaundal
Sh. Vikrant Kaundal born on 19th January 1983 in a revered family of District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, to an educationist mother and a dedicated public servant father. Completed Matriculation from D.A.V. Public School, Bilaspur, H.P. in 1998, followed by Higher Secondary from HPBSE in 2000, and Graduation from Government Vallabh Post Graduate Degree College, Mandi, H.P. in 2003.
Pursued LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University (North Campus) in 2006 and enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla in 2007. Qualified the H.P. Judicial Services Examination, 2008, and was inducted into the training programme at H.P. Judicial Academy, Shimla on 02.02.2009. During service, obtained an LL.M. from Kurukshetra University through correspondence.
Served as Civil Judge (Jr. Division)-cum-JMFC at Court No. 2, Dharamshala (04.05.2009 to 05.06.2010), Court No. 1, Dharamshala (05.06.2010 to 20.10.2011), Solan (02.11.2011 to 10.05.2013), Barsar (20.05.2013 to 08.01.2016), and as Mobile Traffic Magistrate, Shimla and Kinnaur (14.01.2016 to 04.05.2016). On promotion as Senior Civil Judge-cum-Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, served at Hamirpur (07.05.2016 to 21.12.2018) and Ghumarwin (31.12.2018 to 05.08.2021). Thereafter, posted as Secretary, DLSA, Kinnaur at Reckong Peo (13.08.2021 to 01.12.2021) and Secretary, DLSA, Bilaspur (09.12.2021 to 01.04.2023).
On placement as Senior Civil Judge-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate, served as such at Lahaul & Spiti at Kullu (06.04.2023 to 18.12.2024) and Kullu (18.12.2024 to 13.04.2026). Held Juvenile Justice Boards in Dharamshala, Solan, Hamirpur, Kullu & Lahaul and Spiti at Kullu.
On transfer, joined as Additional Secretary, H.P. State Legal Services Authority, Shimla on 16.04.2026 (FN).
